Manna.

Age: 6 months.

Breed: Kelpie cross.

Hobbies: Playing with a squeaky ball, chasing chickens, chewing things, playing with other pooches.

Food loves: Bones, bones and bones.

What is Manna thinking right now? I want to go and run with all the dogs out there on the beach.

Most memorable moment: When my special humans first got me, I was so small I could fit into their cupped hands. Now, only my head fits into their hands. Crikey!

How I have helped my special humans: Having an energetic doggo like me is heaps of fun, and I have taught my special peeps to have lots of patience with me while I am still growing up.

“I can hear you calling me, but when I see the treat bag I’ll take you seriously.”

High energy levels in dogs like Manna are often linked to greater intelligence and trainability. These active pooches need to get a good workout through games like fetch and frisbee, and then they will be in a calmer state of mind for a walk and an obedience / trick training session.

When high energy dogs are exercised well and trained using positive training methods, they will be less likely to engage in destructive or stress induced behaviours like continuous barking, digging and chewing inappropriate items. With exercise, training and lots of time spent with their special humans, high energy dogs can be calm, loving and smoochy canine companions.
